In August, I traveled to Peru on a cleft lip and palate mission trip with Medical Missions for Children (MMFC). I have gone on two prior medical missions with MMFC and have been totally impressed with this organization.
The most recent trip was amazing. We screened over 300 kids and performed over 65 facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries to repair lips, palates, teeth, and reconstruct people born without ears (microtia). Every person on this trip had a shared sense of purpose, and we helped so many families. I feel very fortunate to have gone on this trip and plan to return next year.
