As with any surgery, a Chin Implant does have certain risks and side effects associated with the procedure, which can include but is not necessarily limited to:
- Asymmetry
- Bleeding
- Bruising
- Burning or prickling sensation
- Erosion or resorption of your chin bone
- Hair loss near the incision (if the incision is on the outside of your chin)
- Implant extrusion (implant pokes through the incision)
- Implant rejection
- Infection
- Nerve injury to sensory or motor nerves of the lower lip
- Scarring
- Shifted or misaligned implant
