The Basics
What is Facial Trauma Surgery?
Facial trauma surgery is an operative procedure that aims to reconstruct facial features harmed by trauma. Since the human face is a delicate area containing many bones, blood vessels, nerves, muscles, and sensory organs, if untreated, facial trauma may cause a permanent loss of function and disfigurement.
Dr. Benjamin Paul has extensive training in facial trauma surgery. He is well-versed in the repair of lacerations (known as cuts) as well as broken nasal bones (fractures). The goal of laceration repair and scar revision surgery is to minimize the scar, so that it is more consistent with a patient’s surrounding skin tone and texture while preserving or improving tissue function. As a result, Dr. Ben Paul’s patients often witness astoundingly positive results, making their facial damage from trauma practically invisible.
LACERATION REPAIR AND SCAR CORRECTION – Scar correction treatment options vary greatly on the type, degree, and placement of the scar. In most cases, Dr. Paul carefully changes the direction of the scar by following the natural tension lines within the skin.
NASAL FRACTURE REPAIR – Dr. Paul has expertise in resetting and fixing Nasal Bone Fractures.
